Please read these terms carefully before using our platform. By accessing RemoteClosing.ca, you agree to be bound by these terms.
By accessing or using the RemoteClosing.ca website, client dashboard, quote tool, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and RemoteClosing Inc. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.
RemoteClosing.ca is operated by RemoteClosing Inc. in partnership with Garrison Law Professional Corporation, a law firm licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. The Platform is a technology interface through which legal real estate closing services are delivered by Garrison Law.
RemoteClosing Inc. provides the technology platform. Legal services are provided solely by Garrison Law Professional Corporation and its licensed lawyers. Use of the Platform does not on its own create a lawyer-client relationship — that relationship is established separately through your retainer agreement with Garrison Law.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts under Ontario law to use this Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Our services are available to individuals and entities involved in real property transactions for properties located in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
The Platform enables you to:
The information provided on this Platform, including any pricing estimates, is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Legal advice is provided by your assigned lawyer at Garrison Law under a separate retainer agreement.
To access the client dashboard and retain our services, you must create an account. You agree to:
We use Auth0 to manage authentication. Passwords are never stored by us directly. You may also sign in using your Microsoft account where that option is available.
You agree to use the Platform only for its intended purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws. You must not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these terms.
Fees for legal services are set out in your retainer agreement with Garrison Law and in the quote provided to you through the Platform. All quoted fees are in Canadian dollars.
The quote provided through our Platform includes:
Disbursement estimates are provided in good faith but may vary based on your specific transaction. Final disbursements are reconciled on your closing statement. For more information, see our disbursements explainer.
Payment terms and trust accounting are governed by your retainer agreement and by the Law Society of Ontario's rules on client funds.
All content on the Platform — including text, design, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by RemoteClosing Inc. or its licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright and intellectual property law.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written permission. Your retainer agreement grants you a limited licence to use the Platform for the purpose of your transaction only.
Documents you upload to the Platform remain your property. By uploading them, you grant us a limited licence to store and process them solely for the purpose of providing services to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RemoteClosing Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or service interruptions.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform (excluding claims for professional legal negligence against Garrison Law) shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities, though we take reasonable steps to maintain security and availability.
Professional liability for legal services provided by Garrison Law is governed separately by the Law Society of Ontario and Garrison Law's professional liability insurance. These terms do not limit or affect that liability.
The Platform integrates with third-party services including Auth0 (authentication), Supabase (data storage), Crisp (live chat), and FCT (title insurance). Use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Links to external websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement.
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@remoteclosing.ca. Please note that if you have an active legal file, termination of your account does not automatically terminate your retainer agreement with Garrison Law, which must be addressed separately.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have violated these terms or applicable law. We will notify you of any termination unless prohibited from doing so by law.
Sections 8, 9, 11, and 13 survive termination of these terms.
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes by email at least 14 days before the updated terms take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should discontinue use of the Platform.
